March 2, 2015 – I’ve been away for a week or so, doing some traveling for work and for fun. Got back last night and had to get out today to get some therapy.
I realized that when I fit the armrests, I didn’t actually drill them with the skin. So I put them back in and back-drilled through the skins.
Then I started drilling the right longeron. I clamped the longeron in place as I went; the top of the longeron has to be flush with the edge of the side skin.
I started at the tail and just worked my way forward, and I used a cleco in every hole. That’s probably overkill, but hey… Anyway, by the time I was done on the right side I had quite a row of clecos.
Here’s a few pictures of the drilled longeron clecoed in place (I’m REALLY happy with how my longeron bends worked out!!) :
The forward end of the longeron is supposed to be 3/4″ from the forward edge of the skin. I marked this dimension; it’s pretty much the same for the left and right sides. I’ll trim this end later.
